"Noah Pittenger is about as a complete of a player as I’ve coached in the last 15 years. His work ethic and talent on the field is rivaled only by his efforts in the classroom. Having had the opportunity to have Noah in both the classroom and on the field, I know firsthand the quality and consistency of his work. He is an incredibly polite young man and has shown on multiple occasions to be a “go to guy” not only for me but his classmates. He is a role model for his peers, and conducts himself with an enthusiasm for excellence that is contagious. Noah is a young man\player who, when you are lucky enough to have him in your life, you can’t help but be a better person because of him."
I am writing this letter on behalf of Noah Pittenger. I have had the chance to see Noah compete in my classroom as an Algebra 2 student, as well as on the football field the past three seasons. Noah is a young man who is mature, soft-spoken, driven, teachable/coachable and is always looking for ways to improve and better himself.
My first experience with Noah was as a member of the freshman football team. He was the starting running back, played defense – pretty much did it all. But Noah simply went out each game and competed. He didn’t seek glory or recognition for his accomplishments. He knew that he would do what he could to better the team. He was a very positive influence with his teammates, always supporting them and encouraging them. He knew what it meant to be part of the team and not try to be the team.
In Noah’s sophomore season he was quickly elevated up to the varsity. And again, his humbleness showed his true character. He was treated as an equal by his junior and senior teammates because he worked hard and did everything he could for the sake of the team. He didn’t always start, he wasn’t the number one offensive threat, yet he made the most out of the opportunities he got. And that attitude and work was repeated this past season when his role on the team grew. His senior year should be fun to watch – he is a quality young man. Both his teammates and his coaches respect him.
The one thing I enjoy most about teaching and coaching is the chance to see the student come out of the “student-athlete.” Noah is a solid math student. His work is well thought out and organized, and in class he participates when needed. From a teacher’s perspective I have no reservations in recommending Noah. He will succeed at whatever he sets his direction in life towards.
You are one of the fastest players on the field, but even more importantly you play the game at a top end speed. This is a difficult talent/skill to master as there are several types of speed, the most important for a football athlete is to have outstanding playing speed/game speed. Continue to develop your other skills and you will be an elite running back. A score of a 9 means that you have EXCELLENT speed for a running back. One of the fastest running backs at camp and more than likely in the region.
Displays EXCELLENT quickness as a running back. Does an excellent job getting in and out of breaks, displays good feet which is a great skill. Your 9 rates out as one of the quickest running backs at the camp and very highly across the country. However do not be satisfied with your high end score, continue to find ways to strive to become a 10. We recommend that you focus on improving your quickness with cone drills, ladder drills, and increased muscle flexibility will improve your quickness. Your ability to improve quickness will also be dependent on footwork drills. Improvement in this area does not happen overnight, so make an effort to focus on quickness and footwork drills 3-4 times each week.
Fantastic instincts and vision. A score of a 10 in this category is extremely rare. Running Backs who receive a 10 are exceptional and highly unique players who have natural running ability and can anticipate the development of a play and exploit the opportunity. You have rare and exceptional talents.
We do not give out a 10 unless we believe you possess a rare ability to catch the ball. Your hands rank among the best that we saw throughout the country. Very rarely, if ever, do you drop the ball. Your ability to catch the ball in traffic was shown over and over again during the 7-on-7 and individual drills. However, there is always room for improvement and every time you step on
the field you should be looking to develop your game. Always make sure that you are better today than you were yesterday.
Tough for one defender to tackle you. Great movement side-to-side. As a 9 in this category you are an excellent talent. You showed some of the best change of direction skills we witnessed from the camp and rank very highly across the country. Your ability to stop, start and accelerate is excellent. You do a great job sinking your hips and powering through your cuts. You show that you are very fluid in your movements and have excellent footwork. Although you received the top mark in this category, do not be satisfied. There is ALWAYS room for improvement, no matter how great of a player you are, continue to develop your great athletic ability through cone & ladder drills. Gaining a split second on the defender can be the difference in breaking a big play and getting tripped up.
You did a excellent job representing yourself at the event. Character is a great trait to have and will remain with you well past your playing days. Players who possess 10 character are exceptional in this category. Continue to lead and represent yourself with tremendous character and great things will continue to happen for you. Coaches dream of working with players with your work ethic and eagerness to push yourself to the limits.
Excellent prospect for the class of 2017. Going to be fun to watch and develop.
Can't find too much he can't do or wrong. Will get better as he continues to grow.
